Power Tool Craft Circle

Most Sundays, 1-4, at ADX Portland.

An informal weekly meetup dedicated to making.

Make things with your hands. Make time for your art. Make new friends. Make a mess. Make your Pinterest dreams come to life. Whatever you want to make (and have probably been putting off), bring it here.

Carve out time for your creative practice

Have you wanted to watercolor more? Pick up woodworking? Make jewelry or build a couch? This is the spot! Come every week, or drop in to get help on something specific. This is your time to use as you choose!

Get hands-on power tool instruction

Ever gotten stuck on a project and wished you could talk to a person instead of spending hours on YouTube? I got you. I’ll have access to my library of common power tools to use for your projects, and I’m happy to provide instruction.

Meet new friends (if you want to)

Be as social as you want to be! If you want to tuck up in a corner with headphones, hell yeah! If you’re craving new friends and want to yap for hours, great!

Use up my scrap wood pile!

Not sure what you want to make? I’m happy to help you figure that out! I got started painting using some scrap wood and hand-me-down paints from a friend. I’ll have wood and acrylic paint available for you to use if you just need a place to start.

When

Most Sundays 1-4pm

ADX Portland‍ ‍(417 SE 11th Ave)

Where

FREE to drop in with own project. To use tools and materials, or to get coaching on a project, I ask for a $15-30 donation, but nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Cost

I’m Tess Ball, an artist, handyman, teacher, community-builder, and tool dad.

Within the last year, I picked painting back up for the first time since childhood. It felt like coming home. I have always wanted to make my art a priority, but couldn’t seem to make the time.

So I offer this time together partially for you, but also for me. I want the accountability to keep this practice going.

And because projects often require tools and skills and sounding boards, I’m happy to teach what I know and share what I have!

Not ready to sign up, but want to stay in the loop?

I’ll do my best to send monthly updates, but it’ll probably be less frequent. What is the opposite of spam? 😬
