My commitment to body liberation

I spent over 10 years in fitness as a shame-free personal trainer and studio owner (that’s my sweet little space in the photos). I mostly worked with queer folks who didn’t consider themselves “gym people.”

During this season, I developed a commitment to body liberation (if you’re curious, I recommend reading The Body Is Not An Apology as a primer). What this means for you as a handyman client:

  • I won’t shame you for your body or your body-related choices

  • I would be stoked to help you safely hang a swing in your bedroom that can support 300+ pounds

  • I will happily nerd about about ways to make your home better suited for the body you have

  • I generally charge for services upon completion, and accept cash or debit/credit card.

    Larger projects and room refreshes may require a deposit.

  • As a non-binary person, my gender identity can admittedly get a little complicated. But at the end of the day, this one is pretty simple. Calling myself a handy-woman or handy-person both feel off for me. I’m a handyman. That’s just what fits.
